  4. In Sickness and Health. Vocational education programme: Health and social care

    Students choose a disease they want to present. Afterwards, they collect information, interview people ( e.g. patients, friends or family)

    Next, they make a short film or PowerPoint-presentation.

    During this activity students practise reading, speaking, writing as well as numerical and digital skills.

    Eventually, the final product is presented in class.

    Each person can self-evaluate himself/herself but it is possible to ask peers to evaluate each other too.

  5. Brakes: oral communication in FYR (mechanics)

    Pupils practise different basic skills: writing, talking, reading and IT literacy.

    Warm up activity: 3 min. writing about brakes

    Pair work: discussing questions in pairs (the set of questions aboout the brake system)

    Role play: pupils write a dialogue between a mechanic and an American tourist that has faulty brakes.

    Follow up activity: Pupils can read Drive in a motorcar by Roald Dahl (short story analysis)

    The website www.wikihow gives step by step instructions on different operations in the garage.

  6. Go To Gate. Project: Guide

    Pupils apply for a job in a travel agency by sending their application and CV. Then they are invited for an "interview" and eventually they are given the job. Pupils choose a country and a city in any English speaking country as their destination. The whole project has different stages, e.g.day 1: From the airport to the hotel (a "guide" has to inform "tourists" about the hotel)
