A RESTAURANT DIALOGUE

A Hand-In Writing Task for Chef and Waiter Classes.

Note: This task was preceded by an oral course on polite phrases and service language.

  • The task is to construct and write a believable dialog between a waiter/waitress and two customers in a restaurant.
  • There are explicit demands as to what the dialog should contain, ranging from common polite phrases to correct service language and smalltalk
  • The writing task is individual work. The only aid should be a a dictionary, paper or digital.
  • It is posssible, of course, to have the students perform the dialogs and be evaluated according to other objectives. These are not included here.
