Writing in FYR: Compare and Contrast Two Characters in books or films.

Pupils practise basic skills: reading, writing, speaking. The aim of the activity is to prepare pupils for writing a 5 paragraph text.

Step 1

Pupils fill in tables comparing two characters: their appearance, actions, motivations,background,personality, relationships, conflicts, and changes.

Step 2

Afterwards they discuss in pairs the outcome. The list of connectors might help to create different types of sentences.

Step 3

Pupils should write a 5 paragraph test by using their preparation sheet in Step 1 and 2. Attachment: the linking words to bind the paragraphs.
